How hot are you this spring/summer?

I couldn’t help noticing the other day when I was “Sales shopping” that the start of the new season spring/summer ranges  were entering the store. Hot, hot,hot Orange was the predominant colour with cool “Cobalt blue a close second!! Its interesting to note that these two colours are what we call “Complimentary Colours” meaning that they sit opposite on the Colour wheel & being of the same intensity “stand out” from each other equally.
Orange understandably is one of the most vibrant colours of the spectrum. It is considered to be lively & often makes us think of happy things, which is why we find it attractive, & fun to wear. However, it suits only those of us who can wear  rich warm hues, if it isn’t a colour that we can wear then we are better to keep it as a minimum part of our outfit or as shoes, or  a handbag or as an accessory.

Blue however is from the cool side of the palette  and is considered one of the most friendliest of colours in the spectrum .Its also very social, after all just think of what colour facebook choose for their icon! When you wear blue it can also make you seem more knowledgeable, and responsible but  yet still appear approachable. Cobalt blue is a cool & clear colour & a great eye intensifier if you have brown eyes. If you would like to know how colour can make an impact on  your wardrobe then consider finding out your signature colour range with a one-on-one consultation.

Of course if you really want to make an impact then just put the two together as shown above or with a strong neutral to balance the vibrancy  of the colour or use a monochromatic (shades of the one colour) colour scheme instead.

No matter if Hot Orange or Cool blue are not your favourite colours to wear you can still enjoy the brightness they bring to the entrance of a new season of style!
